Jason W. Downie
Jason W. Downie is Vice President, Secretary and Shareholder of Susemihl, McDermott & Downie, P.C. and has been with the firm since 2002.
Mr. Downie’s experience is in business, construction, real estate, utilities, litigation and environmental law. After being a partner in a small general practice firm, he served as a prosecutor for the City of Colorado Springs. In 1999, Mr. Downie was promoted from the City Attorney’s office to the office of Colorado Springs Utilities General Counsel where he represented one of the nation’s largest service utility organizations.
Education
Mr. Downie received his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in 1996. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Colorado at Denver, where he earned a B.S. in Business in 1993, graduating Magna Cum Laude.
He currently sits on the Board of Directors for Colorado Springs Teen Court and serves as the President for the organization. In addition to his community service, Mr. Downie is Tournament Coordinator for the Colorado Bar Association’s Southern Colorado High School Mock Trial Competition.
Awards
Mr. Downie won the University of Colorado Legal Aid Award for 1995-1996. In 2001 he received the Colorado Springs Executive Director’s Award for outstanding legal service.
Mr. Downie is licensed to practice law in Colorado and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
He and his wife, Siri, have two boys.
